What is QUEST? QUEST is KQED's largest multi-media science, environment, and nature series to date. It includes a weekly half-hour television program, weekly radio stories, an innovative Web site, and unique resources for educators. QUEST has partnered with renowned Bay Area organizations to bring audiences closer to our world-class science research centers, museums, and the natural beauty of our open spaces. For additional information on QUEST and our partners visit www.kqed.org/quest.
The Exploratorium is a museum of science, art, and human perception in San Francisco. Interactive exhibits at the museum explore the complexity of the natural world by challenging visitors to engage in discovery. The Exploratorium Teacher Institute offers professional development opportunities to middle and high school math and science teachers. Participating teachers engage in a rich mix of learning experiences designed to help them infuse their teaching with hands-on activities, inquiry, and strong science and math content. The teachers also share their expertise with one another, discussing strategies that work well in their classes. The Teacher Institute designs and publishes their own hands-on activities, many of which can be found on their website at www.exploratorium.edu/ti. These activities use easy-to acquire, inexpensive, and reusable materials.
